With the advent of 2007, Butte College continues the name transition from WebCT to Blackboard. The product is the same; only the name has changed.
The Butte College home page now refers to "Blackboard (WebCT)" and the link takes the user to a Blackboard log-in page.
Within Blackboard itself users will see a familiar page of course listings, though now it will say "MyBlackboard."
Over the course of the spring semester the transition should be complete, with all dual references to WebCT and Blackboard eventually eliminated. Instructors who have prepared printed or online syllabi and other materials referring to WebCT are encouraged to revise those references during the spring and summer in preparation for the fall 2007 semester.
The renaming became necessary with the completion of the purchase of WebCT by Blackboard, Inc.
